Five Star Services, Large Event Spaces, and Accommodations in Manila: the Pearl of the Orient has Many Layers

Welcome to the Philippines. Tourists find luxury hotels, remote beaches, history, and simple culture here. Professionals enjoy business presentations, industry events, technical or product expos, and symposiums in large venues. Seeing a new city or nation for work is an opportunity to experience Manila, Cebu, Subic Bay, or Devos.

There are various global city ranking metrics catered to your specific interests. M.I.C.E. does not refer to a rodent. It is an acronym for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events. Large metropolitan areas get rated for quality tourism, large group space availability, services offered, amenities, and access using this system.

Hotels in the Philippines are rated on services and amenities offered. The scale for identification is Economy, Standard, First-Class, and Deluxe. I am not sure where a luxury 5 star hotel Manilla fits on that list, but I would guess above it.

To me,“5-star” denotes ranking highly in the five key points of services, relationships, attention to detail, material/product/amenity quality, and intriguing designs/style/ambience. Would you agree that most people have no problem paying more so long as they receive the quality they paid for?

For a 3-day tourist trip or a 5000-person exposition, organized planning leads to preventing roadblocks. Meeting and events departments have vendor, entertainment, permitting, and service relationships required to meet your needs. The best way to get what you want is to tell these experts and let them go to work for you.

As a tourist looking for attractions to visit in Manila, start by fueling up at any of the markets such as Divisoria, Quiapo, or Salcedo weekend markets. The first thing I want to do is taste the local cuisine. Admittedly, I tiptoe into odd or spicy flavours, but I like to try everything. Grab a snack, a beverage, and then a taxi so you can get through traffic and have a light nosh.

In all of my travels, I save the biggest landmarks and sights for last. The first couple of days are for shopping, after which I see the sites unencumbered by bags. That simple step gives me the ability to slow down and experience culture.

As a business traveller, your days are full of meetings and breakout sessions. Your evenings are full of networking events and more work focus. It is difficult to make time in a short itinerary for deep exploration of any city. Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, and Hong Kong can take months to lightly explore the cultural diversity.

Nighttime rooftop entertainment venues will be on the networking circuit. Step away for a moment and gaze into the massive illuminated skyline. The Admiral Club and Coconut Grove rooftop destinations will present the sunset on Manila Bay as a permanent memory.

There is always time for a coffee. Slip into a local café for an excellent colonial-era coffee cultivated in the rich tropical volcanic soil. Coffee is a major crop, supporting many Filipino citizens. The industry needs better farming practice continuity for quality and availability consistency. That is a story for another time.
