Welcome to the business heart of Southeast Asia. Singapore is an excellent large meeting, event, or expo city for various reasons. There is also a spectrum of culture to experience in Singapore. One visit will never be enough time to see this place.
This trip could be work-related. Then you will be in the central business district CBD and need a hotel meeting room in Singapore. From Raffles Place to the Tanjong Pagar, the CBD houses international companies and financial institutions revolving around trade.
If this is your first trip to Singapore, I advise you to pick one of the many districts and focus on it. There is too much in any one district to experience, so take your time. It is pointless to rush.
- Chinatown will still be waiting for you with narrow streets filled with traditional fare of satay or chicken and rice. Shops and boutiques are scattered around for you to find antiques, local crafts, and materials.
- The district with more Malay and Arab influences is Kampong Glam. This is the most artistic and colourful area in Singapore. There are plenty of trendy bars, eateries, and shops as well.
- Little India is another tourist hotspot. Festivals and important Hindu celebrations are held in the public venue adorned with vivid murals.
- Come and get your spicy Singaporean noodle soup, or other Peranakan delights in the food and residential district of Tanjong Katong.
My personal tip for you is to do all your shopping on the first day so you don’t have bags for the rest of your vacation. Another tip is, to wear comfortable travel or athleisure clothing. You will be busy jumping in and out of various modes of transportation and walking to reach everything you want to see.
- The Merlion Park Waterfront is the most iconic of Singapore’s Landmarks and a symbol of the country’s early history.
- The Botanic Gardens are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This beloved site is saturated in history. The garden directors have reinvested in extensive and compelling research on plants.
- Few images are as well-known as the silhouette of the Marina Bay Sands Singapore. This multiplex hosts a rooftop venue for the greatest screening of the sunset the world has ever seen. There are malls, sky lounges, Michelin star-rated cuisine, and an infinity pool to soak it all in.
You can guess what is held at the Singapore Sports Hub. It is a large private/public partnership with stadiums, an aquatic centre, and an arena. There is surfing, kayaking, canoeing, badminton, netball, concerts, musicals, and international festivals with amazing performances held at The Hub.
You can check here for visa requirements for all countries arriving in Singapore. Using their e-service, we can obtain pre-entry permission as a space holder until we meet with the ICA officers at the point of entry. We can receive messages through registered e-mail from our e-Pass application.
Arrive hungry. Singapore has been a trading post for a long time. There is no end to the spices and fresh food that flow through here.
